Talk to usWhat are AMCs?
Actively Managed Certificates (AMCs) are structured investment products characterized by active asset management. These certificates allow investors to access a diverse range of assets including equities, bonds, commodities, real estate and digital currencies, with the investment manager selecting and dynamically rebalancing assets according to predefined strategic rules.
AMCs are issued by banks, securities dealers, and special purpose vehicles as their own bonds, which can be issued on or off balance sheet. They are assigned an ISIN number, making them transferable securities that can be held in custody accounts. While some AMCs are traded on stock exchanges, others are placed privately, offering flexibility in investment approach and market access.
The benefits of AMCs
Diversification
By being configured as an investment strategy wrapped into a single instrument, AMCs provide additional diversification to a client’s portfolio.
Scalability
Clients do not need to be onboarded at a new bank, but they can instruct their current bank to buy the certificate.
Operational Efficiency
Execute transactions within one model portfolio instead of within multiple discretionary mandates.

Build a Track Record
The investment strategy starts recording its performance from the moment the AMC is issued and this is documented to provide additional credibility.
Low Issuer Risk
When issued on-balance, the AMC can be collateralized, while if created as a standalone SPV, this is issued off-balance and therefore it is not exposed to the credit risk of the issuer.
